Blenheim Primary's Allotment

Blenheim's own allotment has started to take shape.  With the kind assistance of BROOMLEIGH HOUSING ASSOCIATION the school now has raised beds, forks, spades, rakes and all manner of other gardening implement together with good soil and compost and an outside tap!  Of course, we must not forget to mention the kind donation of two compost bins by the London Borough of Bromley.

The allotment is being run by Fances Smith and Matthew Byrne working together with carers and parents of children at school.  Children too are being actively encouraged to tkae part in this venture.

We are showing the children how to grow food, where it comes from, what's involved in planting and nuturing plants.

The Allotment Club is open to children in KS1 and meets on Monday afternoons after school.

20th April, update, as some of you will already know Frances Smith is going to be away for a while and, consequently, the Allotment Club will not be meeting.  However, Maurice, the Caretaker, has been deputed to look after the allotments until Frances returns - hopefully just after half term.
